Citadel hoop to lose reserves Hundley, Miller

Citadel basketball is losing a pair of sophomore reserves as guard Lawrence Miller and center Michael Hundley both plan to transfer, school officials confirmed Wednesday.

Miller, 6-2 and from Charlotte, played in 16 games and started five last year, averaging 6.1 points and 15 minutes per game. He hit six 3-pointers and scored 20 points in the second game of the season, and looked primed for a solid year. But he found himself at the end of the bench as the season wore on.

Hundley, 6-9 and from Farmington Hills, Mich., played in only eight games and averaged 1.1 points.

The transfers leave coach Chuck Driesell with a couple of extra scholarships. The Bulldogs already have signed 6-7 forward Brian White and 6-8 center Nate Bowser.

The Citadel reportedly has offers out to 6-8 forward Elijah Moore of Yorktown, Va. and point guard J.J. Epps of Derwood, Md., who I’ve seen listed at anywhere from 5-4 to 5-8.

  1. Best wishes to both these young men. Especially enjoyed watching young Miller get hot every now and then and see his supportive folks in the stands. Hope they both do well.
