A huge contingent of Lowcountry duck hunters enjoyed a big time up on the Santee Delta last weekend during a Wounded Warriors duck hunt. The massive, two-day event was put on by the Georgetown Ducks Unlimited Chapter, the Wounded Warrior Project, Patriot Hunts and about a dozen plantation owners, including Dan Ray of Annandale Plantation, a driving force behind the effort and host of a banquet and music concert that followed the hunt. More than a dozen warriors from Fort Bragg participated, spending the night at various plantations Friday night and then hunting waterfowl Saturday morning. The wounded vets also were treated to a pheasant tower shoot at Backwood Quail Club.
