The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources plans to stock 20,000 striped bass fingerlings at the Somerset Landing on Lake Moultrie May 31.

Recreational harvest of golden tilefish in the South Atlantic waters will close, at 12:01 a.m. (local time) June 3, 2013. Recreational harvest will reopen at 12:01 a.m. (local time) on January 1, 2014. The recreational annual catch limit is 3,019 fish. Congrats to captain and crew of the Sportin’ Life for taking top honors at the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament. I’m hearing reports of a strong marlin bite out there, and the dolphin run is on fire. My buddies went yesterday and limited out, caught at least one with a fly rod and supposedly scored some amazing underwater footage using a GoPro mounted on an old gaff pole.
Running the rivers at night is inherently dangerous. This story from The Post and Courier illustrates just how dangerous it can be. Be safe out there.
