Are you ready for some running???
Here’s some practical information about this Saturday’s CHARLESTON MARATHON events via Kyle Lahm of the Charleston Marathon and city of North Charleston;
Access for spectators to get to the finish line is most easily obtained by utilizing I-26 east/west to I-526 east to the North Rhett avenue exit (19) or exit (20) for Virginia avenue. From exit 20 turn right onto Virginia ave, then turn right onto Empire avenue. From Exit 19, Turn right onto North Rhett then turn left onto Braddock avenue. Follow Braddock avenue to the RR tracks and veer right onto Chateau avenue.
Public Parking lots are marked with a P on the attached PARKING map and plenty of street parking is available.
5K runners may access parking at North Charleston High School or public parking lots/street parking on the North side of the 5K Start as detailed above.
NOTE!!! 5K runners SHOULD NOT park in the area known as ‘Olde North Charleston’ as it will be blocked off by the half/full route. This is the area to the south of the 5K start- south of East Montague, west of Virginia avenue, east of North Charleston High and north of Buist Avenue.

The Full/half races begin at Burke High school at 8 a.m. Most roads downtown will reopen by 9:30-10am at the very latest. Park circle, Riverfront park, East Montague and some surrounding roads will be closed from 8am-230pm.
5K runners can access parking at North Chas high by exiting I-526 at exit 19, turning right onto North Rhett, then turning left at North Blvd. Follow North Blvd to East Montague, turn left onto East Montague, cross the RR tracks, 1st right is High school parking lot.
