The last of three long summer weekends. Boo-hoo. Hate to see summer fading away.
That said, the race scene heats up big-time in September.
For those wanting to know what kind of shape they are in before September, consider doing Saturday’s sixth annual Race Judicata 5K, which moved from the fourth Saturday in March.
Judicata? You may ask. It’s a law thing. Race Judicata’s are held by law schools around the country for local charities. Our is held by Charleston School of Law and benefits the Lowcountry Housing Trust. Judicata comes from the legal term, Res Judicata, which is Latin for “matter [already] judged.”
But you just wanna run? So do I.
When: 8 a.m. Saturday.
Where: Hampton Park (in front of the horse stables).
How much: $25.
Weather forecast at start (as of 5:23 pm Thursday): 76 degrees, sunny, 100 percent humidity, 10 percent chance of rain.

Here’s an registration update from Karen Hauck: Registration is looking alright. We have 120 pre-registered, which is pretty good considering we had less than 80 run last year’s event.
