George Harrison expert to be at Jivamukti Yoga Charleston on Nov. 2 and 3

Are you a George Harrison fan?

Joshua Greene, author of Here Comes the Sun: The Spiritual and Musical Journey of George Harrison, will be at Jivamukti Yoga Charleston on Nov. 2 and 3, offering insights on Harrison’s spiritual journey.

The Hofstra University religion professor is a popular lecturer on the holocaust, peacekeeping initiatives and yoga philosophy. He also authored Gita Wisdom: An Introduction to India’s Essential Yoga Text and produced the film “Living Yoga,” a biography of Swami Satchidananda, who opened the famed Woodstock festival.

In 2000, Mr. Greene was appointed Director of Strategic Planning for the United Nations Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders. That year his book Witness: Voices from the Holocaust was produced as a feature film for PBS. His next book, Justice at Dachau, revealed the story of the largest yet least known series of war crimes trials in history.

“Anyone in the field of religion, spirituality, yoga, music, etc. will find him fascinating, as well as a gentle and illuminated man who we are incredibly fortunate to have come to our area to teach,” says Andrea Boyd, co-founder of Jivamukti Charleston.
