An Evening with Jennifer Pharr Davis

WHO: Jennifer Pharr Davis holds the speed record — male OR  female — for hiking the 2,181-mile Appalachian Trail. In 2011, she did it in 46 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes, besting the previous record by Andrew Thompson of 47d, 13h, 31m. For the math-challenged, Davis’ record marked an average of 47 miles miles per day.

In 2012, National Geographer Adventurer mag named her one of its “Adventurers of the Year.”
