Are you owed money? Cool new local website

Charleston County’s Delinquent Tax Department announces a new page on the county’s website to help citizens find out if they are owed money after a tax sale.

Specifically, the new page offers citizens the ability to:

  • Find out if there is an unclaimed balance in trust funds due to them as a result of a tax sale.
  • See instructions and forms to assist them through the process of claiming funds in their name.
  • Check to see if their name is on the list of unclaimed funds (by clicking on the tax sale year link that their property was involved in).

“We receive a lot of calls and emails about unclaimed funds, so hopefully having this information readily available online will make it an easier process for both citizens and our department,” said Tami Quigley, Charleston County’s Delinquent Tax Department paralegal. “Our goal is to get information to citizens who we are unable to contact otherwise.”

For more information on the new option, contact the Charleston County’s Delinquent Tax Department  at 843-202-6570 or  delinquenttax@charlestoncounty.org.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been pretty busy these past couple of months getting ready for next year. Now, the time has come when I’m allowed to share the news it has been so difficult to keep quiet about.
Get ready to see a brand new Lowcountry Parent next year!
We’ve been working on a complete redesign of the magazine and can’t wait to reveal the new look in January.
Another exciting new development is that the magazine will now be available in Harris Teeter and Piggly Wiggly grocery stores beginning in January.

Want your child on our cover next year?
One of the things I look forward to every month is our cover shoot. It can be tough on those little models, but they have all risen to the occasion. Continue reading “It’s almost 2013!” »
