When I interviewed Charleston midfielder Diego Walsh I got a strange feeling that he wasn't going to be in the Lowcountry too much longer, despite the fact that he'd signed with the club through the end of the season.
Well, my feeling tunred out to be correct.
Walsh plans to leave the team on Saturday for a tryout with a club in Thailand. As soon as I find out which club I will pass it along.
Obviously, with any tryout there's a chance he could return and since his girlfriend, who is expecting the couple's first child is living in Mount Pleasant, my guess is that there's a good chance we could see him again in a Battery uniform.
Walsh, who was the 7th-overall pick in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft, played in six games for the Battery.
Just a heads up, but tickets for Battery's exhibition match against Portsmouth on July 27 at Blackbaud Stadium will go on sale Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. Tickets start at $20.
Last year's game with Bolton sold out and several hundred fans were turned away the night of the match.

Midfielder J.C. Mack (foot), defender Graham Dugoni (ankle) and midfielder Cole Peverley (leg) were out of the lineup against Dayton with injuries.
