The last time we saw Ryan Button he got hurt less than a full period into playing for the Stingrays back on Feb. 13.
Well, he’s back. Button was assigned to the Stingrays and should be in the lineup Friday night against Gwinnett.
With more college kids getting signed, it wouldn’t surprise me to see more players getting sent down to the ECHL.
Button, 21, played in 23 games with the Bruins (AHL) recording no points and 15 penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alberta, native skated in one game with the Stingrays this season (February 13 vs. Florida) recording no points. Button split last season between the Reading Royals of the ECHL and Providence grabbing one goal and five assists in 30 ECHL contests and two assists in 28 games in the AHL. Prior to turning pro, Button spent four seasons of junior hockey in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders and Seattle Thunderbirds and was selected by Bruins in the third round (86th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
