Tickets on sale for Battery’s U.S. Open game with San Jose

Tickets for the Charleston Battery’s third round U.S. Open Cup clash with Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes are on sale now starting at just $10.

The Battery advanced to the third round with a 1-0 road win over the Portland Timbers U23′s; former Stratford High School standout Austin Savage scored the lone goal to lead the Battery into the third round.

Tickets are on sale now starting at just $10 with discounts available for groups of ten or more. Season Ticket holders can purchase discounted tickets for the game; Three Lions Club members receive complimentary tickets to all U.S. Open Cup matches.

Tuesday’s game at Blackbaud Stadium, Daniel Island is presented by the Angie Gainey Bailey Real Estate Team. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with kick off set for 7:30 p.m.

The San Jose Earthquakes are the current MLS Supporters Shield champs having claimed the 2012 regular season title behind a potent goal-scoring season from forward Chris Wondolowski. Wondolowski netted 27 goals last year earning MLS MVP honors and tying the league’s single season goal-scoring record.

Despite a stellar regular season the Earthquakes were eliminated from the MLS post-season in the Western conference semifinals losing to eventual champions the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The Battery’s next home match is this Saturday, May 25th vs. the Rochester Rhinos at 7:30pm at Blackbaud Stadium.
