Scouting the Gladiators

The biggest news coming out of out of the Stingrays camp is that forwards Jack Downing and Igor Gongalsky will probably not play Tuesday night against Gwinnett.

Joey Haddad

Gwinnett’s Joey Haddad and Ray Scooter Vaughan battle for the puck.

They were listed as “doubtful” by Stingrays head coach Spencer Carbery and “day-to-day” by Rays trainer Ray Covard. Aren’t we all “day to day”?

The Gladiators are starting to right their ship a little bit. The addition of captain Joey Haddad has helped as has goalie Peter Delmas. You could see the difference in the Gladiators on Sunday from previous games against them earlier in the season.

Head coach Rick Emmett will continue to make moves to get a better team.

No word on Stingrays when/if Rays center Chris Langkow will return. He had no points in two games with Bridgeport over the weekend. This is his second stint in Bridgeport since the 2011-12 season.

In 57 games with the Stingrays over the past two seasons, Langkow has 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points. His return will allow Carbery to put Campbell and Jordan Owens back together, which I think is a key for both players.
