Stingrays getting ready for Greenville; Scouting the Road Warriors

The biggest news coming out of Stingrays camp is that forward Jack Downing is expected to play Sunday afternoon against the Greenville Road Warriors.

He has missed the last couple of weeks with an “upper body” injury.

Igor Gongalsky is still out. He is hoping to return for the Stingrays’ Thanksgiving road trip up to the Midwest.

There’s no timeline on when Chris Langow might return from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Langkow has played three games with the Sound Tigers so far and has no points and is a -2.

The Road Warriors have gotten some help from the AHL with the return of Andrew Rowe and Michael St. Croix from Hartford. Rowe (7 pg, 4 goals, 4 assists, 8 points) and St. Croix (6 GP, 2g, 4a, 6 pts) give the Road Warriors a potent one-two punch up front.

However, the Road Warriors will be playing their third game in as many days on Sunday when they travel to the Lowcounty.

Here’s the game story from Wednesday’s shootout loss to the Road Warriors that appeared in the Greenville News.
