Scouting the Gwinnett Gladiators. …. again!

It is just me or have the Stingrays played the Gladiators like 11 times already this season?

Oh yeah, that’s right, Tuesday’s match-up will be the 12th game between the two South Division rivals.

Well, at least they’ve only got to play each other three more times after Tuesday. It’ll be more than a month, Feb. 23, when we see the Gladiators again.

One thing I don’t like about the ECHL is that the teams in the division play each other like 20 times a season. I understand the need to save money and keep travel expenses down, but this is ridiculous. I would love to see more West Coast teams come to the North Charleston Coliseum. I think the Stingrays should take one West Coast trip every three or four seasons.

Not much to report out of the Stingrays camp.

No one getting sent down or called up for the game. No new injuries. Lindsay Sparks was back on the ice for Saturday’s game against Greenville. That could change this weekend as the Stingrays head to Florida for two huge games.

Speaking of Saturday night’s 3-0 win over Greenville, what a great crowd. Maybe Darius Rucker should sing the National Anthem every game.

Here’s a story from award winning journalist Christine Troyke with Gwinnett Daily Post on the Gladiators whuppin’ of Florida this past Saturday night.
