Stingrays face hot Greenville team; Scouting the Road Warriors

So, earlier in the day I Tweeted out that the Stingrays were going to get a player. … well, according to the ECHL transactions it was emergency back-up goalie John Havrilack. Not sure if someone within the Rays is yanking my chain or what.

I like Havi, just was told it was someone of consequence. I’ve got a call in to see if this is legit or if Havi is the only transaction before tomorrow’s game.

Anyway, the Rays take two of four points down in Florida and against, considering whose out of the lineup, that’s a good result. Jeff Jakaitis is having an MVP season. He allowed just two goals all weekend. Can’t play much better than that.

Andrew Rowe (9) leads the Road Warriors with 24 points.

Anyway I keep hearing that the Rays will be getting some help from the AHL soon. Unfortunately, I’ve been hearing that for two weeks and no has come back.

Got a feature story on Rays forward Igor Gongalsky in tomorrow’s P&C print edition. Gongalsky and Rays HC Spencer Carbery fought during the 2007-08 season. How many amongst us wouldn’t love to punch their boss just once?

Greenville is on a bit of a roll coming into Tuesday’s game. They’ve won three in a row against Evansville.

Here’s a story from The Greenville News on the weekend series.

Here’s a video of a Stingrays-Road Warriors game from earlier in the season.
