Concannon to run to honor Bostom Marathon victims

South Carolina Stingrays president Rob Concannon didn’t know eight-year-old Martin Richard, one of three people killed in bombings of the Boston Marathon this past Monday.

But Concannon knows the personal impact that terrorism can have on a family and a community. Former Stingrays forward Mark Bavis, who died in the 9/11 attacks, and Concannon grew up together in Boston.

A few thoughts and observations on the South Carolina Stingrays season

I know the South Carolina Stingrays season ended rather abruptly on Friday night for most of you, but, and I realize this will get some pushback, I felt like the team overachieved for most of the season.

To be honest, I thought this was as good a coaching job as I’ve seen from the Stingrays in a while. Maybe since the 2009 championship season.
