Republican S.C. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott will kick off the Lt. Dan concert scheduled for 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium by presenting a Harley-Davidson motorcycle signed by all 100 senators, according to concert organizers.
The Independence Fund is taking bids on the signed Harley to buy all-terrain wheelchairs for military veterans with leg injuries who need to get around outdoors.
The Lt. Dan concert is headlined by Gary Sinise, the actor who played the double amputee veteran in the movie “Forrest Gump.” Tickets are $20, with discounts for military personnel and veterans, and support The Independence Fund’s efforts to help wounded veterans.
The rock cover band plays dozens of benefits for wounded military veterans every year, and has played the past three years in Beaufort.
Tickets for the event have been available on the website ldw4.org, but hard tickets are now available at the downtown, Mount Pleasant and North Charleston offices of the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
